    3. Hi Allen, thanks for sharing. I think, just living in New Zealand and using English everyday should improve your listening and speaking scores. In addition, reading 'graded readers' from the ILC every day should improve your reading speed and consolidate your vocabulary knowledge. immerse yourself in English to improve your English.

  3. Hi everyone, I just came to Dunedin and studied English at Language Center last month. My result of English test is at Intermediate Level at first; however, I had a chance to study at that level for only two weeks; after the examination, I think it was good luck that I can make it to the next level. Even so, I think my English is not good so that I missed a lot of grammar as well as vocabulary in that level. Anyway, I don't have an opportunity to return and study more on that class. Does anyone have any good idea how I could improve about grammar and remember vocabulary?

    1. Hi Best, hopefully the grammar points and vocabulary we focus on each week will help improve your grammar and vocabulary. In addition to what you learn in class, you can do self study though. Try doing some of the grammar exercises available online, for example. Search for "blah blah blah English grammar exercises." in Google. To learn extra words, consider writing new words you learn in a notebook and review them regularly.

    2. I think it is good idea to repeat doing your workbook. Even though you cannot understand grammar or vocabulary at first, you will learn to understand by repeating that. Moreover, if you find the words which you cannot understand, you should check the meaning by dictionary or smartphone. By getting into a habit of checking the meaning of vocabulary, your vocabulary skill will improve. I hope your problem will be solved!

    3. Hi, I think your English skill is good especially your speaking school. In terms of grammar, I suggest that you can find some grammar excises in the library while focus on the class which was taught, I'm sure, you will be fine.
      Have a nice day~

Now I’m studying in the English Language Centre in Dunedin, New Zealand. There’re more International students all around me but it’s so difficult for me to understand what they say. So, I need to speak fluently and listen well. Thai teachers always teach grammar but they don’t teach how to speak and listen at all. My grammar is intermediate. Does anyone have any advice on this?

    2. You are same as me. We hardly had opportunity to speak English. To improve your listening skill, it is important for you to watch movies or news a lot. At first, you watch these with subtitles. Next, you watch these without subtitles. By repeating this, you will learn to listen English well. I also do this to improve listening skill.

    3. Maybe somnetimes the accent of English from diffenrent countries can cause troubles to you. Thought a period of time, 2 or 3 weeks, you will acclimatize yourself to this situation. Be confident and do more practices about English.

When I studied English in Japan, I hardly had opportunity to speak English. So, it is difficult for me to tell what I think or feel. Except for speaking English, I’m not also good at listening English. I can almost understand what my friend says, but I can’t sometimes understand what my friend says. How do you practice speaking and listening English? Can you give me some advice?

Most of people always have similar confusion just like you.On my opinion, this is a nassersary process to study English. There an advice for your questions. Maybe you can try to some English Speaking dramas and soaps. You could try to learn some actor's lines or imitate the talking on televison if you wish. By the way, talk show is another good channel to do that. Have more communication with your classmates from whole world. It will take more help not only English but also culture.

  7. Hi everyone, In order to start my master degree, I need to pass the IELTS exam this year. And, my main problem are speaking and writing. Although I have spent a lot of time to learn vocabulary, it is no use. I could not use it when I was doing the text. So I want to ask how to collect some advanced word which means it is authentic and useful to my speaking and writing.

I know I’m not good at English. And it hadn’t been any problem to me before I came here, because I hadn’t had to use English at all in my workplace and also I had believed it’d be better someday if I study English. But, after I came here, my thinking was changed. I always want to talk with many friends about a lot of things, but I realized my weakest point is speaking. Does anybody have any good advice how I could improve my speaking? I really hope I’ll be able to talk with all of you fluently soon, my friends^^

  11. Hi everyone, I live in Kuwait and we used study to English at school. We have learned a lot of skills and different topics. They taught us English when we were child to twelve grade. Teaching English language at Private school differs from Government school where is very strong and physically unlike my second school less experience and very simple. So, my English became not enough through vocabularies and different synonyms. I require your support and pleased to hear.
